Many types of organizations are continually working to lift up the people who enrich their community, and the people they serve.

We witness each others' farewells, and do our best to care, but so often, we struggle for words of comfort.

Please take a moment to consider enlisting a few simple tools that will empower your community toward richer expressions of sympathy.

4.  Friends Supporting Parents
This peer support group of parents have each experienced the death of a baby. To be truly understood--for as long as needed, is their mission. FSP not only offers a group (meeting in Sterling Heights, MI,) but also one-on-one support.

Commenting on a post,"Angels Above Baby Gowns: Soothing A Terrible Loss." Rick, the lead facilitator and webmaster of Friends Supporting Parents, wrote:

"Deborah, This was a great article. I am a Friends Supporting Parents board member and want to thank you for the suggestions you posted at the end of the article. These are topics that we often talk about in our monthly meetings. If any of your readers have experienced an infant loss or miscarriage please refer them to our group as we are here to help and have been dealing with this grief for quite some time. We want them to know that they are not alone and there are people available to help them in dealing with this horrible loss. Thanks again for the linking to our site and for the work that you do in helping these parents."

5.  Wanted Chosen Planned

This website was created by Alexis Marie Chute, an artist, writer, mother and wife who experienced the loss of a newborn infant. She knows the pain and the journey through and beyond grief. In her own words, Alexis shares:
"My passion for Wanted Chosen Planned is to offer support, a listening ear and encouragement for those who have also loved and lost, all the while sharing my experiences and the methods of healing I found and continue to find helpful. I greatly value everyone who reads this blog and commend those of who choose to connect and share their journey in this community. Truly, at the core of my being, I believe that we are stronger together as we learn how to live after the loss of a child."
